Prostate cancer can occur in older males and can often be slow growing. An individualized screening plan with your doctor is recommended; join us for a conversation about prostate cancer and whether a prostate cancer screening would be appropriate for you. 

Family and Friends CPR

Family and Friends CPR is a great class for anyone interested in learning CPR and how to help a choking victim. It includes skills for adults, children, and infants. This training is a relaxed atmosphere - great for new parents, grandparents, or the general community.

This is a non-certification training course. No test required.

Cost includes a student manual that will be distributed in class or for pick up ahead of the class. Please contact the Health Awareness Center at 732-308-0570, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm for pick up.

Wear comfortable clothing.

The American Heart Association (AHA) strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional material for this purpose. Use of these materials in the educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees for this course and/or material do not represent income for the American Heart Association.

Heartsaver CPR with AED and First Aid Combination

Designed to meet OSHA regulations, this course covers first aid basics, consisting of the most common life-threatening emergencies, how to recognize them, call for help, and perform lifesaving skills. Learn CPR for adults, children and infants, how to help a choking victim, and how to use an AED. A great certification class for personal trainers, teachers, coaches, parents, babysitters, and anyone required to respond to emergencies and have a duty to act because of job responsibility. Students receive a 2-year certification card.

Cost includes Student Manual and a two-year AHA certification card.

Student Manual will be distributed in class or is available for pick up ahead of time. You can contact the Health Awareness Center at 732-308-0570, Monday-Friday, from 8:30 am- 4:00 pm, for pick up.

Head, Neck, and Thyroid Screening

If you smoke or use tobacco products, drink alcohol or spend a lot of time in the sun then you are at risk for head and neck cancers.  Other warning signs include but are not limited to:

  • Persistent sore throat
  • Growth in throat or mouth
  • Change in voice
  • Lump in the neck
  • Change in skin/mole
  • Difficulty swallowing

This screening will include a facial skin, oral and thyroid exam and a TSH blood level draw.

PALS Full/Initial Course

The PALS Provider course is designed for pediatricians, emergency physicians, family physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies.

A copy of your current AHA BLS is required.

All participants must bring a current AHA 2020 Student Manual to class, and prerequisites must be completed prior to class. A copy of your passing results (70% or higher) must be submitted to the instructor at the beginning of class, or you will be rescheduled.

Cost includes the student manual. The manual can be picked up at the Health Awareness Center between 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, or call for mailing arrangements. The training center highly suggests that the manual be picked up two weeks prior to class in order to complete the required pre-requisites. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Health Awareness Center at 732-308-0570.

Please be advised that you are expected to know your rhythms and pharmacology.

Due to course content class will start promptly at 9:00 am. Please be on time, or you will be rescheduled for another date.
